Recordings of PAUA Paris 2023 - PAUA TALKS, will be published in this newsletter every Thursday starting today, as weekly videos, allowing enough space to absorb the collaborative wisdom that has been shared by the speakers and participants. Today we share both talks of The Kogi Elders and a short clip from next week’s PAUA TALK with Rand Hindi.
✨ The Kogi asks some really valid questions about AI to Rand Hindi
As we wrap up the conference, we would like to highlight some of the most memorable moments, including the fascinating intervention of the Kogi people discussing AI with French AI entrepreneur Rand Hindi.
In this video, spiritual leader Kogi Arregoces Coronado Zarabata engages in a conversation about artificial intelligence with entrepreneur Rand Hindi. Kogi raises questions about AI's replication of human knowledge and behavior, emphasizing the importance of understanding the creation of the Earth and nature.
Kogi further questions whether permission from the creator of the Earth was sought to build anything artificial.
Rand responds by contemplating the idea of a simulation, drawing parallels between it and religion. He suggests that if a simulation can be created indistinguishable from reality, it raises the possibility that we ourselves might be in one. Ultimately, the conversation underscores the importance of connecting with nature and preserving the Earth's natural intelligence, highlighting the need for dialogue between AI development and the intelligence of plants and nature.

The talks that made the voice of Mother Earth be heard
Straight from the mountains of Colombia's Sierra Nevada in Santa Marta, we had the honor of hosting Kogi tribe Elders — Luciano Mascote Conchacala (Traditional Kogi Authority) & Arregoces Coronado Zarabata (Translator, School director, Leader) & Ana-Maria Coronado — at the conference this year and sharing their people’s traditions and wisdom through their connection with nature.

DAY 2 - THE ANCIENT TRIBE OF ‘ELDER BROTHERS’
PAUA Community is dedicated to supporting indigenous communities to preserve, reclaim and regenerate their lands and heritage. This year we partnered with a non-profit, Planet Buyback, to assist us in creating a transparent fund where we could direct our friends to helping the Kogi buy back their ancestral lands that have been unfairly taken due to encroachment and exploitation.
Let's stand in solidarity with them, supporting indigenous rights and environmental conservation!
